Kyla Feddersen, founder and owner of Affinity Family Wellness, is a graduate of the 3000-hour program at the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy as well as the three-year Remedial Massage Therapy program in Regina and has been practicing as a registered massage therapist for over 20 years. She has obtained extra certification in prenatal massage and TMJ dysfunction and is well-versed in intra-oral techniques used to treat masticatory muscle and jaw pain.
Kyla’s love of anatomy and passion for helping people drew her to the field of massage. As a healthcare practitioner she believes in a whole-body approach to wellness and is dedicated to helping her clients achieve optimum health and vitality.
Kyla excels in chronic injury rehabilitation and pain management by employing deep tissue and myofascial techniques to increase mobility and bring the body back to optimal performance. Fascial, Trigger Point Release and Muscle Stripping are used primarily; Swedish techniques are incorporated to aid in circulation and relaxation.
Kyla developed a passion for Massage Therapy while receiving treatment for her own injuries as a gymnast and horseback rider. Having to manage chronic injuries gave her a deep understanding of the importance of proper stretching and muscle strengthening as well as provided her with insights and empathy to injury, chronic pain and the specific demands required on the athletic body.
