Registered Massage Therapist | Active Recovery, Injury Prevention & Therapeutic Care
Kelowna Registered Massage Therapist supporting recovery, performance, and long-term wellness through personalized, evidence-informed care.
Elaine Smith is a Registered Massage Therapist at Affinity Family Wellness in Kelowna, BC. She is registered in good standing with the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC (CCHPBC), ensuring her practice meets the highest standards of safety, ethics, and patient care in British Columbia.
Elaine brings a diverse and grounded background to her clinical work, with previous experience in public safety and occupational health and safety. This foundation gives her a strong understanding of injury prevention, workplace strain, and the physical demands many individuals face in both active and occupational environments. Since relocating from Edmonton in 2021, she has been dedicated to building a practice centered on helping clients move better, recover effectively, and maintain long-term health.
Her interest in massage therapy developed while coaching competitive youth soccer, where she saw firsthand how targeted soft tissue treatment could improve athletic performance, reduce injury risk, and support recovery. Today, she integrates that same performance-based perspective into her treatments—whether working with athletes, active individuals, or clients managing everyday tension and discomfort.
Elaine provides individualized, patient-centered care, tailoring each treatment to the client’s goals. Her approach may include a combination of therapeutic massage techniques aimed at reducing muscle tension, improving mobility, supporting injury rehabilitation, and enhancing overall function. She works with a wide range of conditions, including:
- Muscle tension and postural strain
- Sports-related injuries and recovery
- Overuse injuries and repetitive strain
- Stress-related tension and headaches
- General maintenance and preventative care
Known for her thoughtful and attentive approach, Elaine prioritizes clear communication and patient education, helping clients better understand their bodies and feel confident in their treatment plan. Her goal is to create a professional, welcoming environment where each patient feels supported, heard, and empowered in their care.
Outside of the clinic, Elaine embraces the active Okanagan lifestyle. She enjoys downhill skiing in the winter months, sailing on Okanagan Lake, hiking local trails, and cycling with her family—bringing a genuine appreciation for movement and wellness into both her personal life and clinical practice.
