I have been a client of Affinity Family Wellness for a number of years and can't say enough about the service and the professionalism of the entire staff and the company as a whole. Affinity is that perfect blend of therapy meets relaxation. The ownership has done an exemplary job of creating a spa like environment while providing extraordinary treatment delivered by the best therapists around. I would recommend Affinity to anyone!

Ginny

Dr Clayton Selles is thorough in his explanation of your chiropractic assessment and patiently walks through exercises that help with recovery. Clay is friendly, enthusiastic, collaborative and highly important, compassionate. Ty Perry is passionate about physical well being. He uses his strength as an active listener to adjust the treatment plan to match the patient's conditions for the week. He provides a progressive exercise plan and works with the patient to get back to peak form. Ty is excellent working with teenagers.
Meg and Megan are two of the friendly and welcoming faces at the front. They are quick to acknowledge by name, not just at the beginning but the end of the appointment.

Janine

When you feel broken and in need of repair, or just need a fine tuning, Affinity is where you want to be. The staff are skilled, educated and very caring. They will help you feel better faster.

My experience with Dr. Clayton was amazing, he explained every minute of what he needed to do to help me with my neck and shoulders, help me feel very comfortable with what he needed to do with the adjustments (great improvements on my first visit). Plan to continue seen him to get maximum relief of my issues.

I went to see Anthony for a massage and would definitely recommend. I was on crutches for a long time due to a ski
ing injury and he didn't only work on my back but my hamstring as well and I felt so much better. I was so relaxed I wanted to take a nap afterwards. I would recommend this office for sure. It was a clean, professional and friendly environment.

Jessica

Great experience with Affinity. From the booking process and getting the claim submitted, they've handled everything so the whole thing would be as stress free as possible. Anthony definitely has helped me with my upper back and neck as well as my lower back issue. He will guide and help you with recommendations on how to minimize with any issue you're having. Will for sure recommend them to my family and friends.

One of the best places in Kelowna for working on improving your body. They actually listen set a plan and reassess as you progress. Friendly atmosphere, and try their best to provide a solution. Recommend to anyone.

KettlePunch

There is a great atmosphere in this place. It's relaxing and very clean. Their booking system is efficient and the interface is very friendly to use. You can filled up most of the forms online so when you show up for the appointment you are ready to go. Adrian did a great job in my first appointment. He was friendly, comforting and methodical. I felt great for the rest of the day.
The muscle soreness was gone, and the knots were resolved.

Daniel

The Affinity Family Wellness team has proven themselves with excellent customer services. I am so happy that I chose to come and get mine and my husbands treatments done here after our car accident. We are very impressed and find that the Affinity Family Wellness team goes above and beyond. We have different practitioner's working with us to combat different areas, and they have all been wonderful and really helpful and provided us with great treatment plans that actually work. We highly recommend people to come here if they are looking to get the best service in town!!!

Mumina

I have seen many RMT’s but my experience today with Hannah at Affinity was the best experience I have ever had. Her knowledge of different aches and pains and their root cause was impressive and she addressed all of my issues with care and attention. 10/10 would recommend.

Eli

Chantelle was professional and made me feel very comfortable in her space. She made sure to focus on areas that I had specified during our 60 min massage, but also went the extra mile to focus on other areas that she felt needed it. I left Affinity feeling relaxed and 20 years younger!

Kailey

I had Adrian Matis today for a therapeutic massage.
He started by asking questions about why I was there, then determined what he would be doing and explained everything with precision and clarity.
I felt great after the massage. Excellent experience.

Jim

I've never been to a chiropractor and after my first visit the pain was night and day. I would highly recommend.

What Is Prenatal & Postnatal Personal Training?

Prenatal & Postnatal Personal Training at Affinity Wellness is individualized, one-on-one coaching that supports:

  • Pre-conception strength and readiness
  • Healthy, confident movement through pregnancy
  • Early and long-term post-natal recovery
  • Long-term core and pelvic floor restoration
  • Sustainable return to strength training
  • Return to running

Every session is grounded in movement science and informed by real-life motherhood. Danielle integrates functional strength work, breath mechanics, posture alignment, and core retraining into sessions that evolve as you do.

Programs are structured yet flexible—because pregnancy and postpartum life rarely follow a straight line.

Support for Every Stage of Parenthood

Parenthood is not a single chapter—it’s a continuum. Your training should evolve with each phase.

Pre-Conception: Preparing Your Body for Pregnancy

Before pregnancy even begins, building foundational strength and mobility can make a significant difference. Sessions focus on:

  • Functional strength and stability
  • Hip and core support
  • Breath coordination
  • Nutrition and lifestyle habits that support hormone balance
  • Stress and recovery management

Preparing your body intentionally can help create resilience for the physical demands ahead.

Pregnancy (Trimesters 1–3): Move With Confidence

As your body changes, your training shifts too. We adapt exercises trimester by trimester to support:

  • Postural changes and spinal alignment
  • Glute and hip stability
  • Safe strength progressions
  • Pelvic floor awareness
  • Birth preparation through functional movement

Sessions are structured around how you’re feeling that day. Energy fluctuates. Symptoms vary. Your program adjusts accordingly.

This isn’t about pushing harder. It’s about moving smarter.

Immediate Postpartum: Gentle Reconnection

The early days after birth—whether vaginal or cesarean—require patience. Movement during this time is restorative and intentional.

We focus on:

  • Breathwork and nervous system regulation
  • Gentle core reconnection
  • Scar mobility (when appropriate)
  • Pelvic floor coordination
  • Gradual return to upright strength

There is no rush. Healing is not linear. Sessions honor your pace and readiness.

Postpartum Recovery (Weeks to Years Later)

Despite common belief, postpartum does not expire at six weeks. Many women seek support months—or even years—after birth.

Our postpartum training supports:

  • Diastasis recti management
  • Pelvic floor-friendly strength progressions
  • Return to running or higher-impact activity
  • Core endurance and stability
  • Energy rebuilding and conditioning

If you’ve ever thought, “I don’t feel like myself in my body anymore,” this is where we begin.

Our Approach at Affinity Wellness

What sets Affinity Wellness apart is the integration of movement therapy principles with progressive strength training in a private, supportive environment.

Comprehensive Intake & Assessment

Every new client begins with a detailed intake and functional movement assessment. We review:

  • Health history
  • Pregnancy and birth details (if applicable)
  • Movement patterns
  • Current symptoms
  • Goals and lifestyle constraints

This is a conversation—not a checklist. Your story matters.

Individualized Program Design

No templates. No generic “mom workouts.”

Your plan is built collaboratively, progressing from comfort and confidence toward strength and capacity. We prioritize:

  • Core and pelvic floor integrity
  • Foundational movement patterns
  • Gradual load progression
  • Realistic home programming

You’ll understand why you’re doing each exercise and how to maintain momentum between sessions.

Whole-Person Support Through Matrescence

Motherhood brings physical and emotional shifts. Danielle integrates the concept of matrescence—the transformation into motherhood—into her work.

This means space for:

  • Body image conversations
  • Identity changes
  • Stress and sleep challenges
  • Emotional transitions

Movement becomes a tool not just for strength, but for reconnection.

Prenatal & Postnatal Personal Training Kelowna FAQs

When Should I Start Prenatal Personal Training?

You can begin prenatal personal training at any point—before pregnancy or during any trimester. Many women start early to establish strong movement patterns, while others begin later to address new aches or mobility changes. It’s never too early or too late to benefit from guided, intentional training.

Is Strength Training Safe During Pregnancy?

Yes, when programmed appropriately. Exercises are adjusted based on trimester, symptoms, and medical considerations. Intensity, positioning, breathing mechanics, and rest periods are all carefully managed to support circulation, joint stability, and comfort while maintaining strength in a controlled, supportive environment.

How Soon After Birth Can I Begin Training?

Gentle movement can often begin within the first few weeks, depending on delivery type and medical guidance. Sessions initially focus on breathing, alignment, and low-load activation before progressing toward more demanding strength exercises as your body demonstrates readiness and tolerance.

What If I Had a C-Section?

Training after a cesarean birth is carefully progressed with attention to incision healing, scar mobility, abdominal pressure management, and gradual load introduction. Movement is layered thoughtfully to restore confidence and strength without overwhelming recovering tissues or creating unnecessary strain.

I’m Years Postpartum, Can I Still Benefit?

Absolutely. Postpartum adaptation doesn’t have an expiration date. Whether you gave birth recently or many years ago, training can address lingering symptoms, rebuild strength, and improve endurance for daily tasks, lifting, running, or returning to higher-impact activities.

What If I’ve Never Worked Out Before?

No prior fitness experience is required. Sessions begin at your current ability level, focusing on foundational patterns before increasing intensity. The goal is to build confidence gradually, ensuring exercises feel manageable, understandable, and sustainable within your everyday routine.
