Assessment-driven care focused on resolving the root of your pain.
Adrian Matis, RMT
Registered Massage Therapist | Chronic Pain, IASTM & Therapeutic Massage
Kelowna RMT with post-graduate IASTM training and targeted certifications in cervical spine, shoulder, forearm, and hand treatment.
Adrian Matis is a Registered Massage Therapist at Affinity Family Wellness in Kelowna, BC, registered with the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC (CCHPBC). A graduate of the Kelowna Campus of Vancouver Career College, Adrian came to massage therapy from a background as a trained carpenter, an experience that gave him a practical, hands-on appreciation for the physical demands bodies endure and what they need to recover well.
Adrian has built experience across spa and clinical settings over his career, developing a wide-ranging technical toolkit that includes myofascial release, deep-tissue therapy, trigger-point therapy, joint play, and relaxation massage. His post-graduate development reflects a clear clinical direction: he has completed Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) training through Pro HealthSys with Dr. Nikita Vizniak, a specialized tool-assisted technique for detecting and treating fascial restrictions and soft tissue dysfunction alongside targeted courses in Integrated Treatment of the Cervical Spine and Shoulder, and Integrated Treatment of the Forearm and Hand. Together, these certifications give Adrian a clinically precise approach to some of the most common and stubborn areas of complaint his patients present with.
Adrian is genuinely assessment-first. He takes time to understand what is driving a patient’s concern before building a plan around it, which means patients leave with targeted, purposeful treatment rather than a generalized session. He works with patients of all ages and presentations, with a particular clinical interest in chronic pain, headaches, injury recovery, stress management, and postural dysfunction.
A long-time Kelowna local, Adrian is as rooted in this community as it gets. When he is not in the clinic, he is out fly fishing, cycling, or hiking, which tells you something about how he thinks about the relationship between movement and wellbeing.
