John Rowe – Kinesiologist

Kinesiologist | Postural Restoration, Movement Retraining & Rehabilitation

Kelowna kinesiologist with advanced training in postural restoration — helping people retrain how they move, and learn to trust their bodies again.

Jon Rowe is a Kinesiologist at Affinity Family Wellness in Kelowna, BC. He holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology and brings three advanced credentials to his practice: Postural Restoration Trained (PRT) through the Postural Restoration Institute, Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP), and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). He was among the first practitioners in the region to integrate PRI methodology into kinesiology practice, a distinction that reflects both his commitment to a genuinely different approach to movement, and the results it has produced for his patients over time.

There’s a particular kind of patient Jon works exceptionally well with: someone who has been dealing with pain or movement dysfunction for a long time, who has tried things that helped but never fully resolved it, or who sustained a serious injury and no longer quite trusts their body the way they once did. Learning to move well again and to believe the body can be reliable again, is some of the most meaningful work that happens in a kinesiology practice, and it’s where Jon’s approach is most powerful.

His PRT training begins with identifying each patient’s postural baseline, how the body is actually holding itself, what it’s compensating for, and what patterns are creating pain or limitation. His CEP credential ensures that exercise prescription is clinically sound and individualized. His CSCS background means that when patients are ready to build strength, they do so in a way that is structured, progressive, and safe. Together these three lenses allow Jon to address movement dysfunction at its root, then build genuine physical capacity around it, not just manage symptoms.

This approach supports patients recovering from motor vehicle accidents, managing chronic or persistent pain, working toward injury prevention, and athletes from high school through to the professional level. His programs are built around improving movement quality first, helping the body redistribute stress more effectively, reducing strain on vulnerable areas, and gaining strength that feels earned rather than forced.

His philosophy is one of empowerment: meeting patients where they are, building programs they feel capable of completing, and using steady, measurable progress as the measure of success.
