Terryn Penner – Kinesiologist

Terryn is excited to have joined the joined Affinity Wellness team as a practicing Kinesiologist. She graduated in 2019 after completing her degree at the University of British Columbia Okanagan. She specializes in active rehabilitation for individuals recovering from motor vehicle accidents, dealing with chronic or acute pain, or aiming to excel in sports and leisure activities. Terryn’s goal is to restore and enhance functional range of motion and strength, empowering clients to enjoy daily activities, achieve their goals, and feel confident in their pursuits.

Inspired by her active upbringing in sports and personal experience overcoming injuries, Terryn’s passion for active rehabilitation is deeply rooted. As a former competitive gymnast and trampoline and tumbling athlete, she understands the vital role of strength and conditioning in maintaining optimal body function.

Terryn has held various positions in the health and wellness industry, including coaching sports and volunteering to teach physical literacy skills to children at elementary schools. She has also contributed to the MEND program, an evidence-based initiative aimed at helping families adopt healthier lifestyles. Additionally, Terryn conducts in-depth ergonomic assessments to optimize longevity, comfort, and efficiency in office environments.

She has furthered her education with certifications in Advanced Exercise Prescription, concussion management, and WorkWell Functional Capacity Evaluation. Currently, she is completing a 200-hour Yoga Teaching Course. Terryn is dedicated to equipping her clients with the tools to manage and maintain a healthy lifestyle, enhancing their quality of life.
In her free time, Terryn enjoys outdoor activities such as rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, skiing, spending time on the lake, and camping with her family and their dog. Terryn’s areas of interest include soft tissue injuries, concussion management, tendinopathy, disc injuries, and conditioning for return to work, leisure, and sport.
