About Affinity Wellness — Kelowna’s Home for Whole-Person Care

“We’re not just a clinic with individual providers — we’re a team that collaborates across disciplines to help people feel better, move better and live better.”
— Kyla Feddersen, Founder & Clinical Director, Affinity Wellness

When you walk into Affinity Wellness, most patients notice something right away. It feels different here.

It’s not just the clean, calm environment or the free parking out front. It’s the way the front desk team greets you by name. It’s the fact that your practitioner has actually read your file before you sit down. It’s knowing that the people treating you have talked to each other about your care.

That feeling is intentional. It’s the result of fifteen years of building something that puts patients — not appointments — at the centre of everything.

Affinity Wellness has been part of the Kelowna community since 2011. What began as a registered massage therapy practice has grown into one of the Okanagan’s most trusted multidisciplinary health clinics — with over 30 practitioners, nine healthcare disciplines, and 530+ five-star Google reviews from patients and families across the region.

Our Story — Built by Patients, For Patients

Affinity Wellness was founded in 2011 by Kyla Feddersen, a Registered Massage Therapist with a lifelong passion for whole-body health and a deep personal understanding of what it means to live with injury.

Kyla grew up as a gymnast and horseback rider. Like many athletes, she spent years navigating her own injuries and seeking care. Those experiences gave her something that no textbook could — genuine empathy for patients in pain, and a clear vision for the kind of clinic she wished had existed for her.

After graduating from the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy’s 3,000-hour program, Kyla opened Affinity as a solo RMT practice focused on chronic injury rehabilitation and pain management. From the very beginning, her approach was personal, collaborative, and grounded in treating the whole person — not just the presenting complaint.

Over the years, patients began asking for more. They needed physiotherapy alongside their massage. They wanted chiropractic care. They needed a kinesiologist who could work with their physio. They needed counselling support during difficult recoveries. Rather than sending them elsewhere, Kyla listened — and built.

Affinity has expanded three times over fifteen years. The most recent expansion, completed just over three years ago, added dedicated rehabilitation gym space to support exercise therapy alongside clinical treatment. Every expansion was driven not by a business plan, but by what patients said they needed.

What We Believe

At Affinity, care is guided by four core values — and they aren’t just words on a wall. They shape every interaction, from the first phone call to the final follow-up.

Responsibility — We take our role in your health seriously. We show up prepared, we follow through, and we hold ourselves accountable to your outcomes.

Compassion — We know that coming in for care takes courage. We treat every patient with kindness, patience, and genuine respect for what they’re going through.

Communication — We explain what we find, what we’re doing, and why. We listen as much as we talk. Good care starts with understanding.

Collaboration — Your practitioners talk to each other. Your care plan is coordinated, not fragmented. When you need more than one discipline, our team works together — not in silos.

As Kyla puts it: “At Affinity, we believe true health happens when the mind, body and spirit are cared for together.”

What Makes Affinity Different

Everything under one roof — and truly connected. Affinity brings together physiotherapy, chiropractic care, registered massage therapy, kinesiology, counselling, dietitian services, occupational therapy, manual osteopathy, and personal training — all in one location in central Kelowna. But the real advantage isn’t just convenience. It’s that your care team shares charting information and coordinates treatment plans across disciplines. For complex cases — especially ICBC claims and multi-system injuries — this makes a measurable difference in outcomes.

We treat patients like family. Kelowna is a community where word of mouth means everything. Affinity has grown almost entirely through referrals — patients telling their families, friends, and colleagues about the care they received. Many patients have been coming to us for years. Some for decades. Generations of families trust Affinity because they know they’ll be listened to, given the time they need, and supported well beyond their appointment.

“People don’t just come for a treatment,” Kyla explains. “They come because they know we’ll take the time, listen deeply and help them achieve their goals. That’s why generations of families come to us.”

We removed every barrier we could. Free parking at the front and back of the building. Full-time reception so you can book multiple appointments in one call — no coordinating across separate clinics. Online booking available 24/7. Direct billing to most extended health plans. ICBC direct billing. Evening and Saturday hours. Easy access off HWY 97 or Springfield Rd. Getting to your appointment is part of the care experience. We took that seriously.

One-on-one care, every single time. Your practitioner is with you for your entire session. You will never be set up on a machine while your physio sees another patient. Every minute of your appointment is yours.

Care that grows with you. As life changes, so do your health needs. Having a team that spans nine disciplines means your care can evolve with you — from prenatal physiotherapy to postpartum recovery, from a sports injury at 25 to managing arthritis at 65. Affinity is built to be there at every stage.

Who We Care For

Affinity serves patients of all ages and at every stage of life — children, teens, working adults, parents, athletes, seniors, and everyone in between.

We are proud to offer whole-family, whole-body care. A parent recovering from a motor vehicle accident and a teenager needing occupational therapy for ADHD can both receive care at Affinity — often on the same day, in the same building.

Some of the populations we commonly support include:

  • People recovering from motor vehicle accidents (ICBC)
  • Athletes and active individuals managing sports injuries
  • Pregnant and postpartum patients
  • Children and teens with developmental or physical health needs
  • Adults managing chronic pain or long-term conditions
  • People navigating stress, anxiety, or mental health challenges alongside physical care
  • Older adults focused on mobility, strength, and quality of life

For Kyla, wellness is not a luxury. It’s foundational.

“At Affinity, we often say we’re more than a clinic — we’re a community. Wellness is not a luxury, it’s a foundation for living well. We feel so privileged to walk alongside the people of Kelowna on their journey to better health.”
