Registered Physiotherapist | Sports Rehab, Dry Needling & Active Recovery

Kelowna physiotherapist with advanced training in dry needling and IMS — helping athletes and active people get back to doing what they love.

Tess Mihell is a Registered Physiotherapist at Affinity Family Wellness in Kelowna, BC, holding a Master of Physical Therapy and registered with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC). She has completed post-graduate training in Dry Needling and Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) techniques for releasing deep muscular tension in conditions that have not responded to other approaches and holds a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training certification, which she integrates into movement-based recovery plans and home programming.

If you’re an athlete, an outdoor enthusiast, or someone who just wants to move without pain and can’t quite get there, Tess is the kind of physiotherapist who will meet you exactly where you are. She works extensively with climbers, runners, skiers, cyclists, and anyone whose life depends on their body doing what they need it to. The Okanagan is full of people like this, and Tess is genuinely one of them.

Her clinical focus includes sports injuries, chronic musculoskeletal pain, joint and soft-tissue dysfunction, mobility limitations, and active prehabilitation. She uses manual therapy, individualized exercise rehabilitation, and dry needling and IMS in combination, building treatment plans that are practical, genuinely empowering, and designed to keep working long after the appointment ends. For patients who practice yoga, she can adapt sequences or prescribe modified yoga-based movement as part of a recovery plan.

Tess believes rehabilitation should make sense to the person going through it. She takes the time to explain the why behind every choice, so patients leave not just feeling better but understanding what changed and how to protect it.

Tess does not treat vestibular or concussion conditions and ensures those patients are connected with the right specialist in Kelowna.
